Your best bet is to try and blag a ride in a few cossies with different makes, I like AVO myself there can be a marked difference but more down to the spring rate than damper itself, nothing wrong with gaz from what I've seen, just once you've paid you're stuck with them.

My AVOs have been great as well... they repair them quickly if you ever do have an issue... I bought a second hand set as back ups - which they repaired in about 3 days.

Interesting as I'll be buying some for mine,

I'll more than likely choose Gaz Gold but I've been recommended AVO's by a load of people.

Has anyone gone from Koni's to coilovers? As I have Koni's on at the moment, but not sure if I should go to coilovers? Want a nice road set up!

I have a set of Gaz coilovers on my fiesta ST, and love them, have transformed the car. However, I've not driven the saph yet as it's a rolling shell!

I've got Gaz on my saph, no complaints at all, only the springs really as on the softest setting tis still a bit hard on the back.

Cheers, Chris

i have AVO on mine and really done like them, id imagine they'd be very good on a track, but they are awful on the local roads, it bounces and skips round alot. i have been in one with Gaz and it was a far better ride, to me anyway.

For those that reckon their coilovers are stiff, do you know what poundage spring you are running? I have 550 front and 225 rear on Gaz Golds and it feels good on track - this is on a race car btw. Would be very hard on a bumpy road though. You can change the spring very easily - just buy a set of softer springs and it's a ten minute job to swap them.

Thanks for all the advice. Still in 2 minds what to get! My car is not a every day use and would prefer a sort of track day set up as the car is not very road friendly anyway!

I run 300lb 9" front and 200lb 12" rear, I find the rear is too soft, the fronts about right.
