I've always had success with my good old road map. Have borrowed my mums Tom Tom and used Kaths Tom Tom too and found them easy to use and get me where I've wanted to go. Is there much between them these days?

i have a Tom tom one classic, got it about 2 years ago and it was my first sat nav.

Its found every place ive asked it to and works spot on, and has speed camera detection for free.

Not sure about the multi drop/stop thing

I have a Garmin Nuvi with built-in bluetooth. It's rubbish. Crashes randomly. Bluetooth is too quiet and distorts at full volume. Mic is built-in so just picks up cabin noise. Routing is wierd - it has odd ideas about how to get around in cities and isn't very good at dealing with diversions/closures. Also, it refers to all roads by name, not number - signs use numbers.

I do us this on the iPhone 4 but it's a killer for the battery and not really good for a full time sat nav

I've got a cheap arsed garmin, but used a £350 tomtom once (I sell them) and hated it! It was a pain in the arse to use, and took me to the wrong place! My bottom of the range garmin outdid it! There's also the fact we get more tomtoms/navmans/navigons/etc. back than garmins, Garmins tech people are a lot more helpful when it comes to aftersales/faults.
