Doubt it, would be a hazzard to pedestrians in the event of them getting run over

I think it would be illegal to drive with no bonnet because if you hit someone they could be injured by any sharp parts in the engine bay.
found this while looking, look at post 6.

There is no law in the UK that says you have to drive with a bonnet. If the police prosecuted you they would have to chose a law that you may have broken, and prove it. Driving a car in a dangerous condition is illegal but not having a bonnet isn't necessarily dangeorus. Loads of hot rods don't have bonnets for example.

It's legal. Just do it. If the police pull you over, tell them it's legal. Stop worrying about it. You're not going to hurt anyone or do any damage. It's just a bonnet.

I've driven past a few panda cars without my bonnet on, they've said/done bugger all but I don't think traffic cops would be the same, it may or may not be legal but you better make sure the rest of the car is legit because they will go looking if you're stopped

Just drive there with the old one, put new one on, bend old one enough to fit in boot drive back job done, zero risk.

cut your bonnet into sections, then bolt them together again, then tape them up with anti stone chip tape

when you get to the other end you simply unbolt them and put them in the nearest bin
