hi all i have a mk6 zetec s which has a strange knocking noise on the drivers side frount suspention , i had the frount springs changed over a year ago because 1 snapped and its been getting worse ever since mainly wen monovering the car on full lock like parking up and stuff not when driving normally round courners and stuff its a really loud noise like somthing poping out of sumwere lol any idears ?? BTW its passed an mot like this and been checked by another mechanic who said it was ok but i dont think he acctually looked at it cus he was a cunt lol thanks matt

Anti roll bar drop links most likely. Put a pair on the birds mk6 the other week as it was knocking like you say. Only a few pounds and easy to change!

 

could it be the inner tie track rod,not easy to notice even if your looking for it

 

Top mount bearings possibly, if they are sticking they will wind the springs up then let go with a twang, fooling afwul noise and only on/near full lock

 

sounds like top mounts to me mate

think they cheap enough just take the strut off and replace but you will need spring clamps!

 

This! I've just had to buy some for my fiesta due to knocking at the front. They're like Ł6+vat each from a motor factors, so not gonna break the bank! for the sake of a few quid, may aswell change them and see.

 

just found the bill from when my frount spring was done and he changed a nsf anti roll bar link !! so your write lads probelly this because he only did the 1 (lots of big hammers being swung about for sum reason lol) so worth a try 1st . Thanks matt
