S2 Escort rs turbo non start
Afternoon
have had a on going problem over the last couple of weeks with s2 which cut out whilst driving and would not re-start, after some advice i found 12v wire broke which caused no spark, once rectified the vehicle started fine, on road test i made it less than a mile to which point it did exactly the same cut out and no spark but this time it had 12v feed to coil, the only difference was the coil was red hot??
any ideas as to why this would be getting so hot as this has obviously burnt the coil out causing no spark?? i have double checked there is only one type of coil listed which there is and the one on it was brand new as thought this was the cause of the original fault
i have been told that the amplifier in the distributor could be at fault, does that sound possible, or more to the point is that what the black plug is on the distributor???
any ideas would be greatly appreciated as this has got me stumped!!!
many thanks
