I've been asking a few questions on this forum the past few weeks to get some advice on a restoration job im doing on my S2 reg No F*** TOY, A few people have been saying I should start a thread so here goes.

I've owned the car 12 years and was a right old dog that I bought for £400, anyway several engines, some poor prep work (paid for), and a full respray later and the poor old girl is getting a bit rough under the tidy bodykit and interior. The plan was to replace the battery tray, remove some minor rot and blow in some panels, BUT, when i started removing bits I found more and more rust.

My plan for the car is to replace lots of panels, sand blast/zinc the shell add lots of waxoil and a nice lick of paint. I've got everything needed for Cos management, some GAZ coilovers and a lovely set of big Brembo F3 calipers etc etc.

i bought a road legal s2 in merc grey off a guy for £400 about 8 years ago,had knocking big ends and didnt boost right but i clocked up 10,000 miles and only put a new exhaust and front shocks on it.eventually the head gasket went as the fan switch was wired up manually but i still got £600 from a pal for it,the week after i bought that s2 i bought the guys other mercury grey 1,motd and quite tidy for £250.he had done the head gasket,timed it up wrong,bent the valves then did it again but didnt use a new gasket so it was using water.those were the days.good luck with it,its the best colour!i just broke mine after restoring it,i have some panels,doors,bonnet and kit.gives a pm if you need anything!

So you saw it being rebuilt after its 2nd chance at life?? That would have been a good 10 years ago then!! At Priory Alfa?? As for the recaros I think its all 90 spec ERST now although you could be right?!? I may have had some Festa seats in whilst it was being built up.

Got delivery of My Dark green injectors and bells for the front and rear discs so eager to crack on. Race season nearly finished too so I should get some time to spend on her!!

V20 Cos, I went to work with gary at Sawston Alfa sport, He sold the car on just before I started there and bought a Ferrari F360. Can't remember who to, someone up North I think. They may have even broken it for all I know cos the parts were worth so much. Kinda ruined the car after he done all the mods on it made it undriveable and harsh as fuk, right up your street it was lol. What u doin runnin around in A VW runner??

Just recovering from open heart surgery but all good apart from that.

Shame about the ecos but agree he took it to far and ruined it.The golf is a stop gap until i get a frs.
