I was round my mates house today. He said he took is G reg saff cossie 4x4 for its mot last week and it failed on the wheels catching the anti roll bar on 1 side and catching the rack on the other. He has escort cossie 16inch wheels on it. He also says its got a good steering lock on the car where ive heard (and my saff) has a poor lock to lock on it. We were just wondering if it if the wrong rack on it like a granada rack. He has put different bottom arm bushes in and its still the same. Also he said when he has tried his standard alloys on it he reckons the wheels are really close to the calipers. He said the calipers have knocked his alloy wheel weights off cause its that close. Is this right. Its got standard front calipers on it too. Does anyone have any ideas.
i have heard that the sierra racks are the same but that the lock stops on the cosworth racks are at a different place to limit them to 2.5 turns lock to lock. not sure if the 4x4 setup is the same as that though, as they have a different rack fitted to them
just fit some 5mm spacers for the mot so that nothing touches
