Short term motor insurance
May be purchasing a car as a fixer upper. Any ideas wheer to get a sensible short term insurance policy?
Just did E-Car and they want £430 for 28 days cover
That's £150 more than I pay on my daily for the whole year!

How short term? For a one or two days, I'd use someone like Day Insure (Aviva), for 7 days, I probably just HPI it and get the 7-days free. For any more, I don't think you'll do it cost effectively.
