Default How do I no which Altenator I need?

I need a new Altenator for my Xr3i. There is a choice of two a 55 or 70 watt.

How do I find out which is the right one?

Either one will do the job, if you want to replace what's there already just have a look, should say what one it is, but even a 55amp will do, might want to go for the 70 though if you have a bit of audio in here amps etc.

Look on the alternator itself for the red wire. If it goes into a plastic block made up of 2 red wires and a blue wire all together then it is a 55A, if it has separate red and blue wires that have their own nuts to connect it, then it is 70A.

Also, if you have a heated windscreen, you will have a 70A as standard (unless replaced by someone else who was too tight to buy the right one).

Cheers. Yes its heated front and back so imagine it will be the 70A. Thanks!
