Came across a right dick head at this years show. One guy got arsey about me standing next to his car while i was taking a picture of a Aubergine Escort Cosworth which was parked next to his Green Focus RS.

Apart from that, was a great day. Saw some lovely motors are some that were just 'Silly' (in a OMFG that must be quick lol)

Good, i hope he does. If you don't want people standing near your car, bringing it to a car show is possibly the worst thing you can do! Its not as if i was leaning or touching it. I wasn't even facing it.

 

god there were somany focus rs,s today, im a bit fed up with seeing them if im honest.

Well that and beating them on the M1

 

They are certainly popular! I'm doing lots of miles with work and I see so many of them on the roads.

no idea, i used to know him, had done for 4 years...

 

Tell you what though. Some of the Focus RS's i saw had very minor mods that made the car look sooooooo much better.

Some just had been lowered a little and spacers added to the rear wheels which gave the RS a much wider stance and filled the arches correctly. Looked fantastic.

 

Got to be a good thing. Shows ford there's still a market for them which will hopefully lead to new different models of RS's

 

Is it me or are all Mk2 Focus RS's and ST's covered in orange peel??? I'd have that mopped up properly as it really lets the cars down!

 

yeah was a lot of the mk2 frs, and going off the cost of them its not bad for a country in recession (sp)

is it me or does anybody like the mk2 frs??..i know i like mine.

 

There 1 of the reasons i stopped going to FF and RS days.. fields full of imperial blue(or whatever the colour) mk1 frs and now swaiths of asbo orange S2's.. after a few hours of looking at them they pretty much all become the same..
dont get me started on Zetec 's either

I just preffer older stuff, just seems to me that each show seems to look more and more like a current ford showroom.. kinda destroys the point a bit to me

 

Come Ford Fair 2030 the old skool Focus RS boys (complete with tweed jackets and pipes) will be moaning about the hoards of the new RS turbo Hover boards at these shows anyhows...even more so if ford only offer three colour choices

 

righto mate...somehow i thought fordfair and ford shows was for all type`s of blue ovals with ford wrote in them regardless of how many there are of each..but i do agree with ya to a point..and the problem is the older stuff like you say is great but rather thin on the ground these days which is a shame as i both enjoy the older stuff aswell as the new.

You are indeed right what unites any show goer..is the name badge be it on a 010 plate FRS or a C plate XR2 .. I guess its just becomming acustomed to the "new" look of fords on the whole..

As said above give it a further 10 years and we'll be having to explain to folk what a S1 turbo ot tickford Capri looked like and its that "nostalgia" that should be upkept but at the same time its about prevervation on the whole..
