Just been speaking to my next door neighbour as he works at Silverstone & Rockingham.
He was doing the 0-60 today. He said the fastest car was an S1 that did a 3.5 second run. Must have been Shifty?

My big old German tank managed a 7.44. Loads of people were taking it seriously and had the bonnets up and engines off as they waited, rolling their cars forward by hand. I sat there with the air con on

XR8 in front of me sounded awesome

If so, was funny as fuck!
Mr crazycage got a 5.27 which I think was the fastest time recored for the second year running, he also went home empty handed without a prize for the second year running also.
Consistancy to the max :-(
The fiesta zs which had a frs engine in it I think? was doing some mid 5's as well which was very impressive, and a nice car alround

Thought the location for the 0-60 strip was poor this year, right out in the middle of no where. I suppose the good thing was that it made it pretty quiet for a lot of the morning at least
My MK6 Escort, which has a boggo 2.0 Mondeo lump in got a best of 8.6. Was hoping to get under 8.5 as that seems to be what others manage, but hey ho. It doesn't feel ever so quick compared to some I've been in so that's about right. Can't complain for the 600 notes I paid for it!
Think it needed to start a touch further back really though. I was doing about 70 on the clocks as I got to the brake boards on a couple of slower runs, so if you couldn't do it in 10ish seconds, you were too slow, which excluded quite a few of the people in Ka's and things which doesn't seem ever so fair to me.

The jolt made it creep just enough to set the timing beam off so got something like 9.8
Obviously he's joint first so deserves the first place prize. I'll be looking into it today, and will do what I can to make sure he gets the same prize as the other guy (A VI Performance Monitor).

I think I jinxed myself when she asked what I was going to do differently and I said "Get it right this time"
Yeah, totally understand the reasoning Dan. I suppose having the full circuit was probably a popular move. Would you know if having the 0-60 spring down at Stowe had an effect on numbers? As it seemed pretty quiet when I was down there, though I didn't go down in the afternoon.
Perhaps I'm just bitter cos I couldn't do it right

The location wasn't ideal, but due to the revised layout of the circuit there was no other useable option. It was a toss up between having it on Stowe, or not having it all. There would have been a LOT more complaints if we'd have not had it at all.
Last year IIRC Gary did his time after the cut-off (normally 3pm ish). This year he got exactly the same time as a different competitor - I've no idea why he was 'picked' and not Gary, as I was just handed the results at the end of the day.

EDIT: There's a VI Performance Meter in the post to you now.
