Default 2wd rear caliper howling

I have fitted new discs and pads to my car as the n/s rear was howling badly at all speeds.it's now worse.the piston was quite hard to wind in to start with.as soon as you apply the brakes or pull up the handbrake the howling stops.it's really bugging me and putting me off using the car.does the caliper need rebuilt?ta,lee

As the howling stops when the pads/discs come into contact with each other it may just be something to put up with till they get a few miles on, but as it is only one side I'd just go back and have a really good look may be something silly.
