What is the difference? pros and cons?

 

i assume by metal you mean solid metal bushings or rose joints???? great on track, but bone shaking on the road, plus they can wear and distort due to the vibration, as well as placing more load on other components and their mountings. take the engine for example. if you solid mounted that to the chassis with no rubbers, the vibration alone would hurt, thats before you moved off the driveway. polyurethane bushes on the other hand, whilst being stiffer and longer lasting than standard rubber, make the car handle better than the knackered rubbers, but have some give in them still so arent as harsh as "solid" mountings. like most things, its a case horses for courses and everything is a compromise of some description. overall, if your using it on the road, id go for poly. plus they look nice and dont wear as quick.

 

Depends on location of the bushes some places can get away with solid with no real issues some you will have issues which can include breakages in extreme use.
Overall poly can be used pretty much anywhere without problem, it is a self lubing material, and will outlast rubber many many times over.
It will when used on suspension give a much taughter feel with less/no slop in joints so improves handling grip markedly for such a small outlay.

Poly it is then! Not using it on the track so solid mounts would be a bit ott.
