MPG, if you drive it sensibly (yeah right LOL) it will do 25.
To drive, its VERY responsive! Pulling away normally in traffic you have to be careful cause touching the pedal just makes it want to leap forward!

You will really struggle to find one under 80k, however mine has done 76k, I paid Ł8100 for it.
Mileage isnt really an issue unless its over 120k on original turbos

Good money for the mileage buddy

Rob,
The lad I got it off has a brother who had a 550bhp S4, on a side by side 3rd gear pull there was nothing in it atall.

Its pretty easy to get 500bhp from an S4, thats on standard internals too.
Mine could easily do it with 3" downpipes and water injection, maybe even without the dp's.
Its also mapped for 1.2bar up top, it could run 1.6 all the way and get more power too

My only problem with buying one is that i would have to spend 8K to get the car i wanted, and then i would spend loads of money on go faster cock enlarging parts and by the end of it will have spent 12K on the thing when i could have just gone out and bought a b5 rs4

8k will get you one already modded!
There is currently a blue Avant and green saloon for sale, both around 8k and both have similar mods to mine apart from the RS4 heads.
Plus, 12k would only get you a rough RS4.

The bloke who put the RS4 bits and K04's on mine has now got a remapped RS4, he said mine would beat it all day long!

Love my Audi's, the plan is to replace teh 1.8T with an S4 this coming year but I keep flirting with the idea of other things. Considering when I went shopping I was after a Focus.. Ooops

Spec as it stands
Superchip
Forge recirc valve
Milltek full system
K&N cone

18" RS6 rims
AP Coilovers
Quickshift kit

Facelift head and tail lights
Octavia repeaters
M3 lip spoiler
RS4 grill

Di Noc interior detailing
Facelift heater vents

Been a good car in the 60k miles I've piled on it over the last 3 years

Martyn, how often do these things do their turbos?? Its the ONE thing thats put me off buying one of these cars before... because I get the fear that I'll end up buying one that needs 50% of the purchase price spent on a repair.

Cheers,
Grant

Turbos can go on forever, there are cars with 200k on them on original turbos, but its a general rule that after about 140k they are on borrowed time.
Basically it is boost leaks that kill them as it over works them. People get put off mainly because its an engine out job to replace them (but also the perfect excuse to fit some K04's and get big power LOL)
So, ideally you want to look for one with low miles (anywhere around 80k or so is ideal, obviously the lower the better)

As for gearboxes, I dont think its a common thing for them to go?! Certainly not something talked about on the forums I use!
Mine is running the S4 box with RS4 clutch with no problems atall, as are dozens of others who are running over 400bhp, certainly nothing to be worried about IMO.
If you want to tempt yourself and do some homework, head over to www.audisrs.com

Fuckin love these. Theres one down the road from where i work, very subtle mods and the presence it has when its at a set of lights or just ticking over is fuckin mad. you just kinda look at it and know it's an animal lol.

Definately a car i plan on owning at some point !
