Default Landrover Freelander TD4

My parents are looking for a 5-door landrover Freelander TD4 for transporting the dog...

Any common faults they should be aware of?

Looks to me like a cheap little Jeep, quite capable off road (they'll be taking it to the woods) and quite comfy on road?

Anyone on here in the know?

Cheers!

ive had 3 freelanders, all have had there little faults, look on landy zone, loads of info on there. I replaiced wheel bearings, 3 window regs, 99% of them leak water from the rear tail door/window, check the storage cubby in the boot will be damp or even a little puddle in there if it leaks. Vicous (spelling) coupling on the propshaft can give probs but saying that i never changed 1 on the 3 cars i had (my diesel had done 185k miles)

and the boot is not very big for a dog, its quite high but not very deep

they are nice enough to drive and not bad off road and perform pretty good in the snow (like we had the start of the year) on normal road tyres

Land Rovers worst model! Utter shit mate, steer clear. Everone I know who's had a freelander has hated it, and has got rid!
Get a Disco! Older models are quite cheap now, and are much better in every way!

Awful!

My advice would be to get a Subaru Forester. Fine for mild off-roading and a much better car.
