Love the presentation of the video-dont want to do mine do you .

That is using the car park area so extra distance, thats not usually possible, but the timing gate is very late . With the stated Power & 4x4 that speed aint far out from what the calcs would say .

Congrats to all involved i must enter one of these events.

awseome video, doug the owner and owner of mrc rents my boss's unit next door,i went in that car when it was 550bhp and it was immense,no wheel spin just pure grip.and now it has over 750bhp!!!
u should hear the 4x4 rolling road hes got with some cars producing 700bhp on it,sounds awesome,i live the other end of this town and can hear the cars on rollers at nite time.
the s4 at the moment is in the corner of his yard with engine removed as hes extractin more power from it
absolutley awesome car

It would struggle to get anywhere near that in the confines of an airstrip though. Thats the impressive bit fo that vid. Anyone who can clear 190 there has a mentally quick car....... and fairly good breaks i would have to say.

In the confines of Brunters 420 would see 175 max.
People forget this is not the cars Topspeed its the speed it reached in 1.5miles. Over 190mph & your over 600bhp is a good guide at Brunters in any saloon car.

My S4 is 471BHP, what sort of speed could be expected from that roughly at Brunters?

very impressive, has great traction out of the corner so id imagine it hes on the power pretty early compared to rwd gang, looks like fairly hard breaking at the end but still slowed down with plenty of room

Does anyone know the quickest FWD car at Brunters?

I know James Hodson in his mk2 Golf has done 179 on a Redline day

Heard of a Tigra that's around the 180mph mark?

I'm in process of building mk2 Golf VR6 with GT3582R 1.06 A/R turbo with 6x630cc Seimens injectors etc - Turbo good for 600hp, fuelling good enough for 500hp,looking to run it at Brunters once complete.

Done lots of Topspeed events have you .

Tapeing dont make it go faster wish it did.

Certainly on mine you have to tape the bumper cos it breaks the hangers if you dont, the indicators have to be taped cos they are left on the track if you dont. The Sunroof suffers the same fate if not taped ( saw Neil have this happen in his Saff ) . Have also had bonnet lifting at corners hence the pins. That Audi is a bit newer than mine & bits dont fall off as easily .

A cheeper base car to start with,

also not sure how much lighter they are, but the blown arches and huge sideskirts cause a lot more drag.

And dont know if it makes a difference or not but his S4s a saloon, RS4s were estate only.

The bronze Tigra did 181mph and would of gone quicker again had it not of been for noise.

There are a few cars now that could maybe touch 190mph up there, maybe faster, who knows !

Approx 500hp, he now has nearly 600 @ the wheels tested at AET, its all in a new car now though I believe.

Speckys engine also made 580 a week or so ago on a DD setup so expect that to put in some good times soon enough.

I'd imagine both of those cars can see 190mph+ at brunters, its just getting them there as their both in the North.

My old car is having a fettled version of the 600ATW spec engine from the Tigra, he is game for anything so I should be able to blag him to have a go at Brunters if the oppertunity arose.

I think Danny did 181 or 183 though on his first go.

179mph 1st run, 181mph 2nd run then went home.

Mentally fast and spent the 1st 1/3 of brunters looking for some traction which was why we were quicker on acceleration to 60mph

I have no doubt that he would of gone much faster that day and obviously now with a LOT more power its fair to assume he'll be the right side of 190mph IF it holds together.

S4 is available in Saloon, and is the same basic engine and drivetrain. RS4 has bigger turbos, intercoolers - manifolds are different and stronger rods. But for the power this has, you wouldn't use the RS4 bits so no advantage.

Rick.
