Sorry for the noob question but does the Focus 1.8 Mk1 petrol have an EGR valve. Its just iv seen posts about what they are and mine seems to have similar symptoms.

If it does it easy job to clean and are the cleaners u can buy for them any gud?

It does but no they don't suffer with the same problems than diesels do as they burn much more cleanly than sooty diesel.

 

cheers m8, so the similar problems my car is having arent to do with EGR valve? Iv got new plugs and leads to go in at wkend so hopefully wil run better then

 

What problems are you having?

 

well its get rough idling and over revving when coming to a stop and it misses/has flat spots when accelerating.

I know the overring is common focus thing (had VSS changed and cleaned ICV). It maybe down to my leads/plugs so will see how they go. Plugs goin in later, leads will be later or monday if they havent turned up today. Will see how i go on then.
