Default Major backfire!?!

Just popped to the shops in the erst. First time its been out in the wet in a few months.

After a few miles and up to temp I got onto the dual carriageway and opened it up a bit. The boost reached about 8psi then the car started juddering followed by 4 massive backfires?

I got a feeling the damp weather is affecting something just no idea what?

Hmmm... either ignition system has got damp (plug leads, dizzy, rotor arm, coil) or you've gone lean all of a sudden.
Was it a proper backfire with flames?

yeah it was a big back fire with lots of flames. lol

I think something has got wet. Once the engine has covered a few miles its fine. Yet left parked in the rain again for a few hours, fired it up to go home and it did it again after a few miles of driving, then after a few more it ran fine. So once the engine has warmed up its obvisouly dried up the problem.

Must have a bit of moisture getting in somewhere from the rain.
