Default Snap On Cordless Impact Wrench... Any Good???

Thinking of getting a snap on cordless impact wrench, i like the idea of not having to drag an air line around the garage. Anyone got one or used one and can give an opinion?? Thanks

Snap-on 18v gun is the absolute DB's.
Over 400lb/ft of torque, it will undo wheel bolts, hub bolts or anything else you throw it at.

Do not even compare with a machine mart special, my 2 year old daughter would do better with her bare fingers.....

Ł400 will secure one from a friendly dealer...

you cant beat snap on for quality and service well worth the price tag we use them on the rally car at events and track days on our cars etc and i have never had a problem with them and they do last for ages and plenty of torque in them

These have a 12 month warranty. Why would you not get it sorted??

Did you buy it 2nd hand??

Well i've had my snap on 18v gun for 3 years now and its never let me down. Think one of the battery is on its way out. Just invested in the snap on 18v drill aswell.

Good thing is that the batterys / chargers are compatable with all the 18v tools.

Erm, actually the flat rate repair cost for the gun will be Ł75 + shipping + Vat and that doesn't include the batteries.
A battery rebuild can be any where between Ł12 and Ł50 plus shipping.
Well worth doing if you can pick up a beaten specimen for bugger all.....

I've got the 3/8" one and that undoes wheel nuts. Not wheel nuts that have been overtorqued and I would like the 1/2" one to go with it. 3/8" one great for engine rebuilds, exhaust fitting, undertray removal etc.... Brilliant tools, well worth the money!!

Picked up a Snap On 18v battery gun off ebay & I use it every chance I get. Got some extra batteries as well so they get used with the gun & the older worn batteries used with my torch.

you chaps with the newer style 18v guns the ctu6850's and the late 4850's with the green base on them should give the new lithium 18v batterys a go!!

twice the battery life lighter, no discharge while sat on the shelf, make a mega gun even better!!

ooo where can i get lithium batterys? i'll have to ask my dealer..

I have the newer type 18v and it's very good, better than the mac/ingersoll rand and the clarke offerings, i've used all three.

Alsio have the 3/8" one which as said, exhausts and undertrays!

I believe there is a deal on them later in the year.....
You will need tools with the GREEN power connector and a RED battery charger.

No, the battery connector on the gun needs to be green otherwise you can't use lithium batteries.
The charger needs to be completely red

I have the 6850 1/2inch and the 4410 3/8 inch wrenches. Both fantastic. I don't bother with air at all any more. I was thinking of up grading my batteries to lithium. Good to here there is a positive difference with them.

I have the 18v version and when fully charged, probs has more torque than some air impact guns, has 2 batteries so when one is being caned on bottom pulley bolts and subframe bolts, the other is gettin TLC .

Very very handy.... i highly recommend one
