Do any of the classic insurance companies offer cover while a car is in the process of being restored? Just bought a sapphire cosworth, but its in bits as im doing underside and resto etc.

 

Yes mate they do. Just insured my rs1600i on a laid up policy through "need to insure" Wasn't too dear however it does not cover road use and you can't change halfway through but was a cheap policy as i know my car won't see the road until next year.

 

It depends on the coverage that you want. There will be no problem with just liability but if you want collision and comprehensive some companies won't insure a "classic" and those who do, will have a high premium
