hahah, cheers
Just trying to work out if i can be bothered to spend the dosh and set a rev limit of 7k, or be a jew and set the rev limit to 6250 and lump it lol RPM i think puts much higher loads on rods than cylinder pressure....
Have you ever removed gudgeon pins from standard cvh pistons mate? i was told by my local machine shop that every time they have pressed a pin out from an rst piston they have cracked the skirt because they can't support it properly.... all the motors i have done in the past have floating pins and clips. Some one suggested heating the piston and lightly tapping the pin out?
Cheers
Rob,
the rods are ok till around 220ish but if you plan on reving it quite high then i'd uprate them but keep standard pistons

Rob,
muppets if they think force is the answer.
also, get H section rods, i'm starting collecting parts for my new ZT and rods are on the top of the list along with pistons and heqvy duty bearings.
doing it cheap isn't always the answer as i've found out on my zvh.
my cvh ran a solid 260hp for years on standard rods before i built my zetec. and back then if rods and pistons were the price they are now my zetec would never of been.
p-s it was going to cost around Ł1200 for rods and pistons i payed Ł500 for the zetec ones!!
