What are the roomers about these and are any of them true??

As i dont know what gear box i have in my ERST but its not an LSD but i have the chance of a low milaged diesel gear box for free, is it worth putting in as mine is leaking.

they are no stronger than a standard box, the ratio's are no good for rs turbo's and of course they have no lsd as well i personally would not bother unless you are desperate

 

bit of a mith that the diesel gearboxs are stronger they have longer ratios so the strain is taken off a bit im lead to beleave. they use the same bairings as th s2 box any ways

 

No lsd and as above they are no stronger but are better (APPARENTLY) for top speed runs as the ratios are different (longer, taller) whatever words they use!! but if you are desperate it will be ok for a bit mate

 

it will do fine but you will miss the shorter gearing i reckon

 

as above, the ratio's being longer make a top speed run better but you'll miss the rst ratios, which I think are spot on

 

Think i got a diesel box.As get 60Mph out of 2nd gear.At 80Mph,my revs sit just under 3K in 5Th.

Well ill just put this diesel box in for now and see how it goes as its free and if i find i dont like it ill be putting a wanted add on here for a propper LSD box from an ERST.

if mine is,then i love the gearbox.

 

Mine had a derv box in when I got it and I hated it. Pulled it out and chucked it i the bin. Now I have an LSD box in and its much better.
