got mine mostly stripped today, i got to the section where both sides of it has a circlip holding in a brass colured ring with holes in (wet core bearings ??) and i can see another circlip in the middle but its impossible to get to..is this just dividing the bearings up ??

 

From memory the inner circlips just stop the bearings from moving towards each other or dividing them as you say.
