Lightbulb Covering yourself from DVLA screw ups.

I may have found a way to cover ourselves from DVLA screw ups if we ever have to send our liscences in.

I was just looking on the postoffice website and at selected branches they do an ID checking service where for £7 you go along with upto 3 originals and copies including driving liscence and "certify each photocopy as a true likeness"

surely that is the perfect evidence for you if they screw up your liscence when removing/adding points or changing address??!!!

someone tell me if i'm an idiot or a genious haha

It doesn't matter how many photocopies, or witnessed copies of your licence you have, if the DVLA computer says NO, it means NO..

It's never wrong, OH hang on, maybe the odd time or 2 or 1000 or more...

I doubt they would accept evidence form the queen, not if it means they admit to a mistake, just got a SORN declaration for my car today, odd as the tax is not up till september!!

The DVLA computer is BIGGER than any court computer, it'll still say NO.

best way is pretend to loose your license, apply for new one for £20 or whatever it is.

that way youve got a back up showing your entitlements etc that they cant deny.

In theory they would, as it's crown, in practice they don't, as they are well aware of the amount of lost mail the post office lose which calls into question thier credibility, they even lose "signed for" court sent letters.

ok not quite the bullet proof idea i thought it was

i like Warren's idea though, although its legal they cant deny its a genuine liscence.

why does this sodding country always make it hard for the innocent party to cover themselves??!! GGGrrrrrrrr

simple, because they can make money out of your misfortune.

lost license fee £20 kerrching,
removing points £20 kerrching

etc etc etc

I actually believe they throw a certain amount of recieved mail into the bin as a "local" management policy when workloads are high, just like the postie "you were out" scam for parcels to save time. when i sent letters for my medical issues to and from DVLA of 6 letters sent only 3 arrived. Now royal mail are bad but they aint that bad.
DVLA have even lost signed for stuff.

The government needs to save billions....

If they shut down the DVLA, that's got to save a fortune in wages for incompetent retards who cant even manage the simplests tasks ?

It would certainly make motorists lives much easier.
