removing synchro teeth to improve high rpm gear change...
has any1 done this before?
im about to get it done on my un1 transaxle
ive done a fair bit of research on this and have found it used to be quite a common thing in older gearboxes, known as a poor mans dog box.
as my gearbox is quite an old design it really struggles to change gear over 6k (were the std car was limited to)
so im about to get every other tooth removed.
has any1 else done this before?
got any do's or don'ts?
also going to get the parts machine polished.
any1 know exaxtly what machine polishing is? as far as i can gather its polishing with a paste similar to valve grinding paste. is this right?
