Default Cosworth missfire high rpm

Hi was out in my 2wd saph cosworth earlier and it developed a missfire at about 6200 rpm when on full throtle when it misfires it throws out a series of bangs like a machine gun. Before tonight it was running fine. Plenty of fuel in it. Havent had chance to check anything yet so any ideas would be great?
Thanks.
Forgot to its running grays and t38 just incase this makes any dif.

I'd just try gapping the plugs you have first, is it a rythmic bang bang or random, does it normally go over 6200, ie where is your rev limit at, sure it's not that.

no its a rythmic bang. it feels almost like its outta petrol, the limiter is at about 7000rpm but when it didnt mis when i would catch the limiter it would do a similar thing but the bangs would be alot faster (closer together).
thanks for your time guys.

I doubt then it's a lack of spark issue, have you got a decent fuel supply, ie recent filter and rewired pump ?

changed the plugs and gapped them tonight the misfire is slightly better. think im gonna have to check the fuel pump supply voltage, not sure on the fuel filter waiting for the previous owner to get back to me about it, might just change it for piece of mind tho.
