Can anyone recommend any decent eateries in Orlando / Kissimmee? Flying out there for my holidays next week and just found out my favourite Argentinian Steakhouse called 'Tangoland' has shut down - gutted!!!!!!

Anyone know anywhere nice except for the usual mainstream ones like Planet Hollywood, NBA Hard Rock etc??

Emirils was good - proper expensive though. You will have to book.

 

The Kissimmee Steak house used to be good.

Sooooooo many places with great food in Florida, but I can't say i've EVER had a better steak than in Carrabba's Italian Grill.

I thought hard rock cafe was average tbh, I think most of the touristy spots are average.

 

Race Rock is shut down and boarded up.

We had a great steak in, of all places, TGI Friday on International Drive.

Tony Roma's was good too.

 

Texas De Brazil is probably one of the best.

Its on International drive a couple of miles further down from the touristy mainstream stuff.

Great steaks and meats in general and a fantastic wine selection too.

 

Last time I went three years ago we went to race rock on the first night and promised we'd go back on our last night a fortnight later as we all love it,food,surroundings etc.get there to find it's fucking shut!!!!absolutley gutted!!we tried the NASCAR resturant in universal and it was ok,but expensive and nothing special.

 

nascar resturant in universal is like a basket ball place now very little to do with nascar.
we liked the outback places.nothing fancy but nice

 

Hard rock very dissapointing.my mate reckons bubbu gumps in universal is great but he's a tight cunt so I don't always listen to his recommendations!!!although he did say it was a "special" meal which makes me think it maybe ok!!!the mc donalds on I drive( by the harley shop) sells some lovely gourmet stuff if you just want a lazy night in believe it or not!!!

 

dont think there is a bad restaurant imo

but the olive garden was one of my favorites

 

I didnt really rate Race Rock when it was open, thought the decor and memorabilia was nice but the food was no better than Dennys!!

Polly X - think i've been there mate, is that the one where you can choose your meat and watch it cook? Out the front of Belz (or whatever its called now) outlets and opposite something Bay shops (Vans skatepark as well?)

Pig - I think the nascar place is still as it was on Citiwalk with the NBA place across the water?

a few good ones on the 192 are the olive garden, cracker barrel, Red lobster, Ruby tuesday and the road house ( opposite OLD town) but as said above most places are nice to eat

 

cracker barrel was good, and the best one we went to was in celebration it is called the celebration town tavern, the steak in there was stunning!

I think that cracker baron is near where we are staying, we are at the Radisson World Celebration?!

 

I want to go back, been 14 times now love it!

 

my parents live there, go and see my mum she'll do a cracking barbeque!!!

theres loads to choose from mate, and as mentioned my parents also say that places are opening and shutting all the time, there was this place on the us hwy 192 nearer the chinatown end called the 'las vegas buffet' was really good and had a HUGE selection

don't bother with bill wongs chinese intl dr, way to expensive for what it is however you just cant beat the big boys sizzler, ponderosa, shoneys, outback, golden corral, oh i miss golden corral mmmmmmm

 

golden corral was great, pay your money and eat as much as you want!!

Been posted above but nowhere else like it!

You dont get to see your food get made, however you get a card at each place on the table, green one side red on the other, when your hungry turn the disk to green and the waiters will bring your all the food you want, different types of meats and whatever else, all freshly made and awesome.

Lovely looking place as well!

Aiming for Texas De Brazil the night we get there as I want to shoot up to Belz and buy some bits!!

Lhd S1 Mark - A friend of mine has a few villas, let me know the dates and i'll ask him when i see him next week. He is in North Kissimmee though right by the 192 (Just off Poinciana Blvd)

Anyways off to the airport tomorrow so will let you know how the restaurants went!!
