Bought a ford focus diesel t reg that's been standing for a year runs ok but alternator light was on checked voltage and was only charging at 13.2 so changed the alternator and the light is still on charging at 14.1 now??? Checked all the fuses and there ok??

Any ideas anyone?

 

blue wire to the alt corrodes though causing light to stay on

It's werid it goes off for 30 seconds then comes on?

 

Checked the wires to the alternator and they seem fine any other ideas??

 

could be the cluster playing about esp early one like yours.have the codes been cleared from pcm's memory?

 

I'll get the codes cleared and see what cluster you talking about? Surly its something simple?

 

instrument cluster i mean mate.they can mess about.ooo one thing i have thought of.check the voltage at the 3 pin plug at the alternator pin 1 i think is a red wire.thats a battery voltage feed from fuse box.the wire can rub through on the boost pipe just under the battery fuse box
