hi all
im goin2 atempt 2 convert my s1 rst in 2 a 4x4 cosworth powered mk3!
im gotin2 b doin all the fabrication work myself!
its no fun if sum1 else dus all the work for u!!
iv started 2 make me a spit/jig so i can spin the car upside down!
go 2 get the angle iron 2moz so i can start to build the frame in the car b4 i start removing the floor pan!
il post sum pics 2moz!

upload pics from ur pc to photobucket mate the click on pic on paste on hear

 

just replied in General discussion mate, but in short...

Upload images to photobucket, hover over the thumbnail and 4 links appear below. Right click and copy the whole of the bottom link, then come in here and right click and paste - the link will appear [img]blblblblb[img/] or similar.

Then post you reply and the picture will appear in the thread. If you remove or move the pics in photobucket, they will vanish in here also.

you could just buy a4x4 shell get you started tho

then al i need 2 get is the same as u! engine,ecu loom,gearbox!
as al the cross members r the same!
the trouble is m8 that the price ov any cossie parts r sky high at the mo!
im goin4 2wd loom an ecu as only 3 or 4 wires me 2 mate into my s1 loom!

not sure yet jamie undesided weather to buy a 4x4 complete or buy the bits
as i dont really need the panels an stuff but another tunnel would always come in handy ,no good with wiring so that bit be left to a pro sadly

 

im after a xr4x4 shell m8 alot cheaper an the same running gear apart from gearbox! unless i can get a 2.9 then the box is the same!
then only need engine.loom.ecu!
how fair u got wiv yrs then m8?

mine is a focus mate just painted an satwaiting for bits really
i building another focus at mine so till that goz mine have wait

the xr4x4 tunnel to0 small for cosworth box but will easy modify i got
one for my focus an bind it for a cossie item that didnt cost me out

ye if i cant get a cossie 4x4 i will get a xr4x4 an fabricate it 2 fit the box!
the mt75 box an rear beem an front cross members on the xr4x4 is the same tho aint it m8?

yer it would be easy to mod i just was lazy an got offerd a 4x4 one so went with that ,im sure they are bud ,ul be puting hole floor in then or just tunel
bulkhead an strut tops ?mite have ago at one these me self when the focus is done

 

im goin2 put the hole floor in m8! alot less lining up an fabricating in my eyes!
an wiv the sierra inner arches on i can get bigger wheels on no probs!
an looks alot better than just cut an shuttin the strut tops! lol

 

yer looks the easiest way as most people do it that way pal

u got two s1's as can see another to the side of this 1?

 

the gearbox out of a 2.8 wont fit a cosworthengine, u need the 2L 4x4..

 

mite no were theirs a box for sale just needs some synchro,s in it

mt75 2.9 4x4 gearbox is the same m8

 

2day i welded the angle 2 support the front ov the shell!

 

my best friend!!!!!!!

iv removed the front section! iv got2 weld summore 2 the rear b4 i cut the rest out!

i collected my sierra shell 2 day an iv already got my cosworth ready 2 strip so i can crack on now
