turbo trouble

Default turbo trouble

sent the turbo of on thursday and got it back saturday only to find out after fitting it today that the whole core and hot side moves when i turn the 13mm nut on the compresser side tryed to tighten the nuts but it still moves
looks like ill have to send it back not happy what a waste of my time

Why did you need to alter anything on it? I don't really understand, they usually come ready to fit.

i was on the same understanding as you christian i have not altered anything on it fitted it as you do thinking it would be all good then noticed oil leeking then discovred i could turn it enough to open and close the actuator not a happy man spent ages putting it back together

have you made sure all the 13mm nuts that are on both sides of the core are tight 6 per side as they are there for slight adjustment

Matt,

Firstly, if I've understood this correctly, it's just the 6 bolts that hold the turbine housing to the core? If so, why not channel your energy into just tightening them up? It's not that big a problem, surely? These turbo's are assembled by human beings not robots, so mistakes can happen. Not everyone is perfect. OK, it's not great, but it's not worth stressing over, is it? Additionally, I think you should have spoken to CR Turbos and given them a chance to sort it out before posting on here.

spopke to cr turbos when problem was noticed and tightened said bolts as tight as humanly possible and tightened every other bolt visible and the problem was still there .Have spoken to cr this morning and they have said there must be a problem with it, so they are building me a turbo up today to send out for me tmw problem fixed
