The rods and pistons cost a fooking mint too! Not much change out of 1.5k but that also buys a little bit of peace of mind...
Tell me about it Scott , in the Burtons catalog the pistons are called Mahle/Forged then on there online catalog they come under the Cast pistons section, same part number
... my ones look like both.... god damn confusing....

No you're not if they are of the same type than std. RST pistons. I run 20psi daily and have experimented with upto 30psi with no problems what so ever. I'm running the std. RST pistons and thus standard compression too.
Of course the fuelling and ignition has to be bang on.

Scott
i brought some Ross Racing pistons the other day for mine 1mm oversize , forged low comp ones from P.T.S nearly 500 quid though, susposed to be good, they put them in drag cars etc.
But untill i get the car back on the road, i dont know how good they are!

As above there is no true forged Mahle piston.. all there pistons are 'squish' cast for want of a better word (and not knowing the propper term
) the metal is put under pressure into the casting thingio and out comes a harder than normal cast piston due to the metal being forced in so you dont get air bubbles etc in them.
Mahle pistons are good for 30+ psi of boost but they cannot disipate heat as well as a true forged piston and are obviously not as strong.
