Kanabyz why would you ruin such a nice car by cuttin the springs with not buy proper lowering springs surely they cant be hard to get or expensive plus they would the car a far better drive than cut ones

For some years, latest 80s to early 90s, VW and Ford had a "partnership" in latin america, named Autolatina. Most car of both had the same VW engine. But CHT is a Ford engine.

I have an 89 XR3 SuperSport that here in Brazil, is a special edition, with 1000 cars, commonly named Benetton edition. XR3 is White with green strips in bumpers and uses a VW motor from Gol GTS, an AP 1.8s.
