Default Long time lurker, first time poster!! (Updated Pics at bottom)

Morning all!

Recently got into modifying 1/18 scale cars. Here are my 2 wips.

First of all a simple sleeper conversion.

All I've done is lowered the suspension, added the RWD conversion and the cossie engine and flocked the seats.

Just need to add the airbox/induction kit and the exhaust (which is taking a bit of thinking!)

I'm also in the process of doing a Gartrac inspired Escort. All the modding has been done in Milliput. Just remember, it's inspired by, not a replica of..... Be kind

The RS1600 is my first ever modding endeavour! Think I bit off more than I could chew, but need to get it finished! Just waiting for the weather to be right before it gets it's coats of Sunburst Red.

Thanks for looking!

gartrac looks great for your first mod, no better way to learn than to throw yourself in at the deep end lol

I've just used embossing powder. It's ok, but I think that I might need to put some hairspray or something like that on it to seal it in. I've read somewhere that paint pigments will have the same effect though

No, I had taken the windows out to do it. I just masked up the window rubbers as I haven't got a steady hand and I didn't want to mask fresh paint to repaint them black.

Just finished adding the exhaust. Used the original exhaust with the cosworth back box. Was a 'mare getting the manifold lined up with the downpipe!

Then I fitted the airbox.

I still need to repaint the botton (I got a little glue happy and it ran!!)

Hope you like it

With a 7 month old I've got wet wipes coming out of my ears!!

It it that easy to get off? I was going to get paint out, but if that's all that's needed, awesome!

I flocked my Escort seats. I used actually flock power (??). It comes off a bit if you touch it too much so I just give it a light layer of laquer. It doesnt stay as soft tho.

I haven't been able to get flocking powder, but read somewhere this is as good. It is a bit of an arse when you get it looking perfect then move them about too much, only to see the powder on your fingertips!!

This is what I used

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/sim-acrylics/...911.m270.l1313

This is how it turned out. They were left lying around for about 5 months will I decided what model to put them in

They were my 1st attempt at it aswell so are nowhere near perfect.
