Default Zetec on carbs...

Is anyone running this setup?

Basically the plan is to run a 2.0 zetec on carbs. I understand I will need ignition managment for this. Not a problem

The car is obviosuly fuel injected at the moment so will things like fuel pump/lines need to be replaced?

There is always throttle bodies I suppose....

this is the progress i have made so far

https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...046&highlight=

just waiting to get it all back from my mate, then its off to simon @ SECS for a SECS S8 ecu.

i made a fuel rail at the weekend, taken from a mk2 astra 1.8 sri to run cossie injectors.

as for the fuel pumps, im using the std zetec one for the mo, should be ok for 200bhp.

as for carbs, im not too sure on what setup is best, i am using 42mm throttle bodies, optimum for a 2.0l engine.

HTH

Hi

Talk to Dave Colledge at Retro Ford

Not only has he done Zetec on 45's but has also done Zetec on Jenvey Throttle Bodies and also ST170 Focus motor on Motorbike Throttle Bodies.

You could also speak to Troy at Northampton Motorsport as they have mapped these engines for Dave, but also have a customer of their own running TB's on Weber Alpha management in a Focus.

www.retro-ford.co.uk

www.northamptonmotorsport.com

Hope that helps

Fudgeass & Neil M - cheers for the info!

I dont need managment mate but maybe interested in the throttle bodies

Ive seen burtons do a throttle bodies kit for about £2k all in. At least then I would know Im getting everything (even all the little parts and pieces).

Carbs seem to be cheaper than throttle bodies too....

pm replyed to mate, im using std pump for the mo, will see how it is when its all on and running.

cost was

£90 for tbs, £110 for airbox, prolly £200 worth of machine work (spacers etc), fuel rail £5, zetec alloy inlet £15.

and a few other bits and thats about it.

if you do the work yourself, or know someone who can.
