How do you know if your fuel ECU is fooked? Was speaking to a guy at work today and told him what had happened the day before and about the spark plugs being black and he mentioned the same thing happened to him albeit in the Punto he was using. So he swapped the ECU for another and now works fine.

 

mfi bud. It was last setup when running 15psi but since the rbuild i wound the bleed valve back as far as it would go. Have done 100 miles since and it seemed ok till now when i was out giving it some but started to slow down when i put my foot on the accel pedal. After it stopped i can't get it to start and the plugs are black but fine b4 i took it out for a spin.

 

plugs are dry just checked. I wound the bleed valve in to reduce the boost for the rebuilt engine but fuelling etc has not been setup since before the rebuild. It did seem to run well as i managed 100 miles on the fresh engine without a setup but now not starting. Am gonna nip out and make sure its getting fuel just to be sure.

 

check the fuse hasnt gone for the fuel ecu as well this somtimes goes and or bad conection in the fuse box. the fuel ecu has a cold start enrichment function so if it isnt working it wont start when cold
