do not use this seller thought was an honest bloke turns out not to be
had 2 gearboxes off him cost £350 then £50 to send the 1st one back then got the 2nd one and realised when fitting the exhaust back on the head gasket was seaping so off came the head then sent of to have some head work done and choose to remove the engine to sort the sump plug on removal of the sump found the dreaded metal fillings :-( so sent the bottom end off for rebuild anyway all came back and now put together and running 1st drive gearbox that was told he drove and was all fine crunches in 4th when asked about it got told nah to long ago but anyone that knows me like (nice_head) and (greg shepherd) will tell you the progress of my car and now he refuses to email back to sort anything out so be warned DO NOT USE THIS SELLER "RS Specialist" DO NOT USE THIS SELLER "RS Specialist" DO NOT USE THIS SELLER "RS Specialist" DO NOT USE THIS SELLER "RS Specialist"

so you buy a gear box,and complain about it 7 months later.
i dont think pete is out of order fooking you off with that one mate.how do you expect him to know that you havnt actually been launching the car for the last 6 months?
i would want proof from very reliable people, before i would consider a exchange/refund.

PMSL at this one,I wondered how long before it came on here
at least tell the story correctly
I sold you a gearbox as an unknown as I hadnt tested it and offered your money back if not happy,i did just that and replaced it with another box that i had driven and tested
9 months later YES 9 MONTHS you decide it now has a fault
do me a favour
slag me away as much as you like matey,no one will cover anything 9 months later
i stood on my word with the first box and changed it,why the fuck would i send another box with a fault and wste my time and money cleaning it draining it and sending it at MY cost

pete has covered that one nicely IMO
you cannot expect a refund/replacement after that length of time!!

9 months is a pretty long time for someone to still consider giving you an exchange or refund.

Personally if i had had to get one exchanged then I would have bolted in the replacement and given it a god through the range to check it was working, and if i hadn't, after 9 months i wouldn't have expected the seller to be interested in my call even if it was genuine as , like has been said, i could have been using the box for all they know.

Positive post then.....

RS Specialist sold me a rear beam off a 2WD Saph for my RWD Focus just before Christmas. It arrived as expected, rusty for its age, but in straight working order. Can't ask for more than that. Got honest replies over email and the phone, so can't knock them for that or the goods they sent out quickly.

Every firm get sh*t from one time or another, whether from pissy fit people who expect to get concours parts from breakers, or from genuine complainants that have received parts in worse condition than advertised.

Anywayz, peace all!

i agree, downside to buying second hand is theres a fucking good chance its fucked and will fail so unless they are alot cheeper than new to take out the risk i no longer bother and sometimes its cheeper to buy new,,,,,,, some people make a killing on ebay pmsl

penny wise can be a pound stupid

though if your genuine it can be anoying as you do buy of traders expecting them to be checked,,,,,, but now i work in the game,,,,,,, boy nothing in this game new or old i trust anymore

Got some front trying to get a refund on that. Say it was fucked and he tucked you up a treat, because you've not tried it for 9 months since having it, you can't expect anything to be done about it now.

theres nothing wrong with selling second hand parts as long as they are checked before selling to the best of the ability in regards to the part, and there is a warranty to back it up,

once had a good business selling second hand parts and yes we would have a few issues a week but well outweighed by the good points

oh yes i know there is not alot that can be done and i was not expecting full refund or a new box and i have many proof ie dvla ,mot`s, a mod on here ,people on here, engine and head bills, dated photos and after 6 MONTHS i can see his point but to just ignore emails sorta proves the point ok so i problaby have been screwed over and im not "slaging you off" just warning people of the expensive lesson .date was 25/10/09
