Default Mk 6 Fiesta 1.4 --> 2L

Hey There!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was looking to fit the ST150 Engine or the ST170 Engine into my Fiesta. Its only the 1.4 Zetec. I herd that the St150 engine fits straight into a Zetec S Just wondered if anyone knew if the engine would fit nicely or not before i go and buy it. IF not does anyone know what kind of 2L engine would be suitable for my car.

Thanks Lee

Is the ZS engine a duratec or a sigma/zetec-se lump?

Thanks Dude. Thing is ive spent roughly about £3.5k on the car already getting a bodykit and sound and things for it. If i was to sell the car for the ST i would loose out on allot of money. I know what you mean tho thanks for writing me back.

Cj - I think its a duratec

Thanks lee

Just because it was my first car and i was hoping to keep it for a bit i thought about upgrading the engine. What about the 1.7 puma engine.. does that fit straight in?

do what you want mate, its your car

if you pay a garage to do it for you i think your probably looking at 1500 - 2000 + the price of the parts..
the parts could cost you 1000 - 2k alone..+ uprating things like brakes/ suspension e.t.c to match the new power...

or have a crack at it yourself, if youve got basic knowledge its pretty straightforward once you get into it.

would be easier if you had the donor car and your car side by side though so you know your not missing anything e.t.c..
then once its all done get a garage to check it over

Yeh i know what you mean. Was getting the engine from a place down south. Was costing roughly 1k for the complete engine and gear box. You could probably pick one up of ebay for less but then theres the problem of not knowing if its running right or not. Got a few friends who are mechanics and my uncles a mechanic also so its not that big a problem. Your right tho its allot of money just to solve the engine. Few months wages for me considering im on peanuts. Rofl

Cheers for the posts

IIRC you need the full loom, clocks, ignition barrel, ecu, etc all matched off the same car. Also pedal set off the ST aswell.

UKFN do a price list of whats needed for the whole conversion. Consider your possibilities when you do this, full conversion £2k?

Iv done this full conversion for somebody on my drive. It can easily be done in a weekend if you have everything that is required.

Engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, keychip and transponder, clocks, exhaust, all coolant pipes and header tank, power steering pipes, fuel pump unit and fuel line.

Pedal set as stated above is not required.

They will fit the gearbox yes. Both IB5's

The 1.4 is a Zetec-SE, just badged as a duratec. The 2.0 is a Newer version of the Zetec-SE in larger form, with no relation to the old "Duratec" in the ST170 at all (which was actually a Zetec).

It will fit straight in as Tim said. But you need to make sure you have ABS as the ST runs its Speedo drive from the wheel ssensors. If you have ABS its plug and play. IF you dont its far more tricky.

as said they would fit but i wouldnt expect your cv joints to last too long if you give it stick with the increased torque/bhp
