Default focus tdci 2002

My car dont start.just start when I put a spray to help started.does anyone know what can be?

could have an air leak? if it's started since you've done the fuel filter.

is the drain on the base of the filter tight? is there any diesel leaks on the floor where you've been parked?

Had a similar problem with a later focus diesel I serviced, something to do with fuel pressure solved it by bump starting the car a few times at it was sorted

p.s you did prime it first right?

could be cam sensor playing up.black type early.grey type later type.it sits in middle of rocker cover.that could be causing lack of synch on engine

I did not prime I donnt know how to.
I went back to the car token the return pipe from the filter and I hear something like fff fff.
I pressume will be air in.
Now how to I take the air out?

Turn the ignition on till the lights go out on the dash and off again, repeat at least 20 times and then bump start it, that should sort it
