Default Escort mk4 Sport

Hi im martyn, im form south wales and ive got a 1990 1.6 3dr sport in white,

ive started to strip her down after the gear box went and noticed rust!
Any ideas welcome

The first lot of pics is whewn she was off the road first adn i was just messing around with it

well heres the pics of it lowered.

my new tinted rear lights and when i took them out of the box 1 of them was broken, heres a pic of them on the car. if you look at the left hand 1 you can see the black out line is missing

i polished the car and heres the out come,
also i found the broken bits of the lights so im repairing them and thats y theres different lights on the rear

thats wen i done half the bonnet-

i also bought a second hand scorpian exhaust system

heres pics of the car with the indicators and headlights in and also the rear black lights

heres pics of my new bolt on k&n filter and s2 alloys

Heres pics of the car when it was on the road before the box went

heres 2 pics of some of the rust, i will need to change the cross member and other things around it. the first pic is a hole by the right hand side bonnet hinge

and this is by the cross member

and while its like this im going to put a 1.8 zetec lumb in, im waiting to collect my new engine cant wait to start puting it in

ive also got 90 spec turbo bumpers for it but im unable to get my front bumper off due to rust and rounded off bolts

wen im able i will take more pics and update more often as im getting back into it now

Looks a nice motor. Just my opinion, but keep it as it was, just restore it. Eventually, every Mk4 Escort going round will be an RST, it's good to see something difference

unfortuneately I don't think the Sport is worth any more than a normal Escort. The Sport was used to use up all of the old pre 90 spec XR3i trim

Thats ok i dont mind if not worth more it beats driving around in a typical xr3 or rst thats been thrashed. i am still in process of getting it looking mint i have had wheels refurbished and replaced most of interior (not that it needed replacing) but i now have that lovely new plastic smell you get when you get in a new car ..as for all old bits well i sell them to help finance restoring car ..will post some pics when i have worked out how

i had the wheels stripped back to bare metal ,the centres where then machined out so i could fit later style centre caps .. the ones with the proper blue oval badge then they where sprayed to match so now they have a very very slight blue sparkle to them ... i will probably sell them once i find a new old stock set of wheels
