Default How much should an engine breathe?

Ive just built my engine up and got it running. I have the rocker cover venting to atmosphere and can feel presure coming from it but no smoke.

Is this about right as im not sure how much these CVH engines breathe?

my cvh stalls if you vent the rocker cover to atmosphere by taking the oil cap off, if they dont its usually piston rings are knackered and its breathing heavy, this is on mfi tho i dont think an efi will cut out tho

The pipe back to my metering head is blocked off so that dosnt happen.

You shouldnt vent direct to atmopshere without a breather and seperator.

It will be heavy breathing from the roker cover and will make a right mess. Obviously you have the one direct to the back of the block from the rocker cover connected still? just the one to the left hand side with no pipe on it yes?

If so you should really get a breather for your engine.
