Default What to do about engine!?

Alrite Guys!

Having a bit of trouble deciding what engine to put in my RST!
Ive just recently rebuilt my 1600 cvh with oversize pistons new bearing, pumps etc. Shall i convert to EFI with a stand alone managment or shall i go down the Zetec Turbo route?

I want more power!

Its running around the 200bhp as it is on the mfi setup.

Not sure weather to stay with the cvh or go full Zetec!! Or whats the ZVH route like??

Any opinions will be great

Matt

everyone will tell you not to go zvh thats for sure. not me though

all depends on your budget, ditching the mfi and going stand alone is the best option to start with.

I can't see why anybody would wAste money on cossie managment when it's more exspensive than the likes of Omex, haltech ,ms and gotech seems pointless on a 20 yr old system and still no coil pack etc without spending more cash standalone ftw

stick with the 1600 you just built, and run efi of your choice job done, less hastle alot cheaper, as you only need to fit ecu and loom. as you already have a fresh engine

Id stick with the 1600 you have just rebuilt mate and go efi as above..... if you look at it in black and white you WILL need efi at some point no matter what you do, doing an efi conversion now will make your life easier later.

Nothing too wrong with the zvh mate, but in all honesty it was a bodge done back in the day when aftermarket management and manifolds were expensive, you can probably make a low power zetec turbo for the same money as a zvh.

Good luck what ever you do,

Rob,

reliabilty is spot on, so long as you look after it. like any other engine

power wise 270atw, which was more than enough. im building my new engine at the mo, same spec as the last on, black top bottom end, one of our spec heads, newman cam and a rather interesting turbo. make for a good drive in a combi that weighs in at 905kgs
