If these are 16", I'd run 10mm spacers. If they are 17's, personally I wouldn't run them atall, but I think you'll only get away with 5mm spacers.

ET35 is the most suitable for 7J IMO, but I ran ET30 (ET35 + 5mm spacers).

as above just about to put my comps on and mine are et35 7j on 16's and i'm going to be running 215's on the front for grip and 195's on the rear so can get as much clearence for my coilovers and outer arch lip, you could buy the ones you've seen and put a 5mm spacer on it

There 15s the ones ive seen as wanted to try smaller rims as not happy with the way the car handles on 17s.so if there et42 with a 5mm spacer this will bring it down to et37 or 10mm down to et32 wont it.

yes your right with the et thinking and not sure on your brakes some 300's fit under 15's but it depends on the caliper type and position

I think 300mm will be very tight on 15's, i know your after purpose rather than looks but i think 16's is a good compromise...15's will look pretty damn small.

i agree with the above, 16" are a great compromise, and you know for sure your brakes will fit. ideally you need to be looking at et 35-37

I've got 17x8 ET35's on mine with 205/17/40 tyres. If I were to buy the wheels again I would go for 7's or 7.5's as the 8's are too wide really, but they were brand new and boxed for £450 IIRC so didn't have much choice.

7x16 et35, ive had so many different rims on the s1 over the years and this is by far the best compromise imo

your soft line should only be 7j wide unless they were diamond cut ones as they were 7.5j and i've put mine on today and they fit so much better and they are comp mo's 7j16 et35 and gives more space everywhere even with the 215/40's on the front
