Default My mk6 escort 1.8 n/a van

Heres my van

I bought it not long ago with it being modded from the outset, i got it looking like this

It had fitted a new jvc cd player, escort gti alloys and a rs2k steering wheel, soon as i got it home it got modded.

Good bye rubber floor and deck chair seats and hello car carpet and mk6 rs2k recaros no pics as of yet.

Ford strut brace
Front has been lowered by 40mm on gmax shocks and springs,

Wrc bumper and morrettes

Air trumpets and van skirts

17" mille miglia spyders

Yep im a learner lol, pretty much after that photo i decided it was far too slow so a td engine was on the cards.
The TD engine is not in yet as i changed the turbo from a one thats cast into the exhaust manifold to a tdi unit which is separate from the manifold.
So with that there is a difference between the oil feeds from the oil pump

As you can see the bolt is a different size so i need a tdi oil pump and oil feed, heres some more pictures of the engine with turbo differences

Im also fitting a fmic from a saab 9000 cs

Looks like a good fit so far just need the pipe work to connect up, the down pipe from the new turbo fits perfectly my magnex exhaust system so that will be fitted. The fuel and boost will be turned up and the egr blanked off as its crap.

The only rust problems on the van and the rest is pretty clean, I got bored of waiting so i decided the asthmatic n/a engine need to come out

Tools used, trolly jack, spanners tow rope and a 3x2 levering lump of wood, didnt have a engine crane but the engine came out with a bit of persuasion.

Thats where i am up to so far but has had various bits fitted and a fair bit more to be fitted. Thanks for looking Dan

I was going td power but having sat in a mondeo td i hated the way it sounded and drove.
So i've got a 1.8 gti engine to fit but i also have a 1.6 engine spare so i may build up a 2l.
Heres where i am at the minute

Both arches done

Started refitting the petrol loom inside and outside, now i labelled all the engine connections so i knew where they where to go BUT i didnt on the interior :wacko
So most of today was spent working out where things went the loom was from a car that had an alarm fitted and removed so there was a load of tatty wiring. Also the doner car had dual air bags but i didnt keep the second, not a problem you may think ? Well it is as the ecu for the air bag is different to the single air bagged cars.
I will be buying the correct ecu and now a passenger airbag I also found the plugs for the footwell lighting so ill buy them also.
I now have a spare td engine and stuff lying around oh well petrol is where its at

Thanks for reading
