Default Won't idle

Hi guys went for a drive tonyt and broke down :-(. Was all fine untill I was pulling up to a set of traffic lights on a bypass and when dropping down the gears it's was popping and banging loud nevered here'd it like this different to normall if you no what I mean. And when pulled up to stop the revs died and now it won't start. On the way home on toe with my dad I put it in gear and it starts on the bump but holds no idle!!

Any help please !!!

have you blown a boost hose off or air leak somewhere?

It's in ma garage but I don't think so will be haveing a propa look on Saturday am so pissed of !!!

Massive air leak (probably), the popping and banging is typical of lean mixture, check all hoses round the back of the inlet manifold carefully etc.

my s1 (back in the day) was a fooker for blowing the hose of the turbo to the bottom of the intercooler, a set of samco's cured it

Cheers guy it's sorted was a little vacum pipe to the metering unit.
