This is a fantastic A/V receiver that got got great reviews when it was released, Its not current but after upgrading my amp today to sonys latest offering im possibly a little dissapointed.

I upgraded as the yamaha does not support true HD but after upgrading i have found out that not many films are in true hd anyway. If i could take it back i think i would.

Bad luck for me but good luck for someone that may want my old Amp.

im pretty sure i have the box in the loft, The rear battery holder of the remote control is slightly damaged but nothing bad and they work perfectly.

it is 6.1 i believe but im sure you can get the full specs, was £400 when i bought it but i am willing to let it go for £100.

if you have a good 5.1 speaker set up but a poor amp then this is for you.

As said its a great amp with really good surround sound quality, if no one fancies it then it will get set up in the bedroom with my old speaker set thats being replaced very soon!

 

Decided to keep it and take the new amp back.

new amp was no better than this one to my ears!

 

I have just swapped my 430 rds for a denon (only because i was given it and it does 7.1)
No way will i get rid of the Yamaha, it will be used again some day even if it is way out of date.
