That's correct, you will have to take a few and run through a crash testing program.
I'll look around for a link.

It may be different if you are taking one in as opposed to being a U.S citizen and trying to import one.

pretty sure you need to go for a small turbo model as they have the side impact bars fitted, Florida is supposed to be one of the easier states to import them to

as said I think they have to be 25 years old to avoid the testing program, will be able to take a 3 door soon!

This one has been on U.S ebay a few times.
It's street legal in Oregon, not sure if Florida will accept it;

I read a thread on RSOC board some months ago from a US serviceman coming to UK then, when he returns to US take a escos with him, he did lots of research and as said above must be late ST and there was lots of other stuff to change/convert to pass US regs ,got to be easier to buy the one thats already over there ,1 of only a few apparently .....good luck

i hear what your saying and thaks for the reply, however from reading the description i wouldn't be too happy buying that for near 17k in case it's a dog, seems a little neglected, plus i don't really like red either.
i'd rather buy a mint/decent one here or even europe for peace of mind as parts won't be easy to get hold of over there, plus you never buy something just cause it's over there especially something like a cosworth
