Default FAO Stu or other L8 ecu experts....HELP!!

I have a few issues at the moment

Escort cosworth, L8 coilpack converted, MSD chip. Ryan loom.

I think I have 2 separate problems

No1: Ign on, fuel pump continues to prime/run. Car will turn over but not start. I have noticed that injector no2 is clicking like mad, swap plug to no1 inj, no1 clicks. So it's inj no2 wiring. My Ecu also does this on Matt Baxters as we swapped to check. If I kink the fuel return pipe, pump stops. A couple of times before, unplugging the iscv has stopped the pump but now I can't seem to make anything do it, even having all the injectors, tps and iscv and ign amps unplugged. Pump still runs. Checked for leaky injector with the whole rail disconnected no leaks with all injectors unplugged and pump running

No2: Matts ecu fitted(similar spec etc), fuel pump continues to run but does TRY to start.

I'm proper baffled.

On the way back from the pod the other week the car had a prob where it seemed to go really lean below 2000rpm, revving itself, popping and farting. Above 2000rpm it was completely fine. I diagnosed a dodgy TPS so ordered a new one, not arrived yet though but went out the other day before these other probs started and it was fine again. Have checked voltages on the tps and although it was 0.15v at closed, if I moved the throttle very slowly, voltage would sweep ok, but if I moved it quickly (not full throttle though) it would shoot straight up to 4.7v.

any expert advice gratefully received.

the first issue sounds like an encryption failure on the chip/board.

did you deffo order the chip to suit the type of baby board fitted to the ecu? ie std or pectel?

it may not start on matts ecu if its flooded due to the injectors pumping fuel in

Had the chip a while now James, not just fitted it.

That wasn't very good england there. The chip has been fitted and working fine for a while.

mmm, check the ribbon cable connection on the board, wiggle test it, check no legs have been damaged on the chip,

maybe try a different baby board,

otherwise, start pining out the loom

Right, mine is either a chip, encryption board or babyboard problem. Swapped the whole babyboard over with matt baxters and it works. Still have the fuel pump running problem but I think that is the iscv causing that.
