Default heated windscreen wiring

hi

i have purchased a heated windscreen wiring loom, relay and switch, now this is not to go into an escort but i am retro fitting it into my nova

just need some help with the wiring can you tell me what wire is what ?

the big red one will be 12v+




i assume this plugs into the rs turbo car loom or fuse box???

IIRC

Red - permentant live to aux fuse box on battery
Black/yellow - live when ignition on
Grey/yellow illumination for switch light
Blue/yellow engine running light

The black/purple wires go to each of the two circuits in the screen.

Feel a bit sorry for that loom - being demoted from an Escort to a Nova

i was thinking more an upgrade

Hmm - I'll beg to differ on the upgrade; - unless you mean you are significantly increasing the value of your Nova by adding a few feet of copper wire and a relay

The blue/yellow is an engine running signal so the relay won't switch on and drain the battery without the engine running. The light bit was a typo...

BTW don't be tempted to connect that right wire straight to the battery without the 60A fuse. Unless you like loom fires that is...
