Im currently in the process of building a MK4 Escort track car and need some advice on the suspension setup.
I havnt started the build yet as im just gathering knowledge and a few select parts at the moment. Its not going to be anything mad or magazine worthy just something with a bit of poke than can be thrashed round a track once in a while for my pleasure lol
Ive been looking into fully polybushing the frame which comes in at a shade under £300 and perhaps adding strut braces for more rigidetty but im stuck on suspension choice.
Just looking for a simple suspension kit to start off with as coilovers will come later when ive learnt about the cars handling characteristics and when im a bit wealthier lol
Also ive read a lot about adjusting the track and the camber, does anyone know where i can get the adjustable parts and a good company that will set it up.
Your thoughts and current setups please.
Cheers
Ben

Suspension kit....Koni dampers/-30mm springs will be a good starting point.
Adjustable tca's....'mef motorsport' then get them setup to your reuirements at any good wheel alignment place

Yeh i was looking into adjustable TCA's and i looked up a company called Rutland Performance Vehicles who did the whole rear setup on that yellow superchargered MK1 fiesta and they'll do custom stuff so that most of the setup can be adjusted.
What do you reckon to a GMax kit? Comes in at a shade under £250 so i was wondering if that reflected on the quality. I dont wanna seem like a cheap skate lol but im looking to put a simple damper and spring setup on it for the first few months so i can learn the characteristics of the car then when the time comes ill put some proper coilovers on.

Just had a look at the Mef Motorsport website and they do pretty much adjustable everything which is nice.
Also whats the difference between the standard escort setup (1.3 Bonus) and that of the RS1600i?

Is there any difference with the rear suspension?
On the mef motorsport website they sell a transverse bar kit I'm assuming this is an alternative to the rear suspension arms? There also adjustable so might be worth looking into.
Does anyone know of a reputable company for seam welding? If so how much would you think they would charge. Looking to get as stiff as chassis as possible to the limit of what is possible anyway.
Cheers for the advice so far by the way very helpful
