escort not starting when its get hot

right i got a erst zvh starts fine but when it gots hot and u stop it wont start intill u leave it to cool down for a bit any one else had this prob? take it its to do with the starter, i have heat rapped the down and pipe and that is there any thing else i can do, is this a common fault, cheers for your help

have you tried heat wrapping the starter motor??
also there arre heat shields you can buy which protects the starter motor

replace the cable from battery to starter, job done! its a bad earth problem

Does it turn over as if it does it WON'T be the starter.

Its not an earth problem, this is very common on rs turbos, cvh,zvh etc.

Its called heat soak, the manifold and down pipe get so hot the starter motor cant handle it, there are a few ways to remedy this.

Heat wrap your down pipe, get heat shield for starter but they are hard to find

Upgrade your starter to a zetec or 1800 diesel one, if you do upgrade it, you would still benefit heat wrapping ya down pipe.
